I wonder. . . .

. . .what life would be like if the Lord hadn't thought up the idea of pets.  In his infinite wisdom, he knew that in doing so, we would experience something so precious and so unbelievably priceless. Unconditional love.

I have been very fortunate to have experienced that my entire life.  Pets don't care about what kind of car you drive, where you live, if you haven't showered in three days because you've been sick.  They don't care about ANYTHING but you.  You are the center of their universe.  A little scary, but a wonderful thought at the same time.

I've had Bella for almost a year now, but it's hard to remember what life was like before I got her.  She brings me such joy and her and Bandit make me laugh every day.  And that got me to thinking.  I wonder how Sally feels about her Bella? I bet she loves her just as much. Taking walks together, eating popcorn on the sofa while watching a scary movie together (ding, ding, ding. .another idea), taking a long leisurely row in a canoe, catching fireflies, skinny dipping at the local swimming hole, and chasing rainbows. Oh, they must have the best adventures ever!  Don't you think?  I do.

So, in thinking about that, I sketched out this little image on the left.  Sally and Bella are enjoying some quiet time together without any interruptions. Perhaps watching the sunset, but still, not having to say a single word.  It's enough just being together and that's all that matters. True friendship and an unconditional love.  There is nothing better, as I am sure that you will agree.

I hope that you've experienced the pleasure of having a pet and all the love and joy that they bring.  But if not, you can come along with Sally and Bella on their adventures.  I'm along for the ride, are you?

Finally, I want to thank you for your sweet comments and emails concerning my first video tutorial.  I really did have fun doing it.  I wasn't really sure if you all would even want to see it, but I just threw it out there for you, just in case.  I will be working on the hair, bow/shorts and shoes portion in another video tutorial this week.  I hope.  But I would still like some other suggestions.  So if you'd like to see something, you're going to have to help me out. Thinking is really difficult for me and often gives me a headache.  LOL So even if it's just the coloring of another image, you'll have to let me know.   Because I will certainly be at a loss after this one is completed. :)

But. . . .I do have a favor to ask, if you have the time and don't mind taking a minute to help me out.  I will be doing more tutorials if there is a request, and what I'd like to know is, if you'd like to see the video tutorials here or just the journaling, or a little of both.  I will be posting the video tutorials to my new YouTube channel, so they will always be there, but was wondering which was more convenient for you.  So I'd love to hear your thoughts on that.  You may leave a comment or simply drop me an email.  Either way is fine.

So until tomorrow. . . .HAPPY WAGGING!

  2. Oh Cheryl it's a good thing your images are digi because otherwise I'd be in trouble Another must have!

For tutorials for me I find it hard enough to check blogs so if they are just posted on youtube I would probably never see them And I would be sad (insert sad Sally here). So my vote is post here. Totally appropriate to me as after drawing this is the next step in your illistrations.

For ideas I want to see it all! Do you ever colour in all copics? For me I am only starting so am starting that collection and can't start another. Maybe some with all copics? Or suggestions for those who use them?

Maybe anything on how you pick your blending colours For us non artists who just love the look but are clueless

Because your images are so reasonable if you have no other idea I would just say pick an image and do tutorials on how you would colour it. I know I post links on my blog for my customers as a lot are new to both digi images and copics The fact the can grab the image immediately and colour along is a major added bonus! Maybe on your site you can start a section with tutorial images so people can easily find ones you have used in tutorials.

Also include other itens like Bella to show fur or a wooden bench Stuff like that?

Oh how I wish I was artistic lol. That's what I've got lol. Apparently had more ideas than I thought lol

    1. Lord woman. LOL Isn't it funny sometimes, how you have a thought and it just keeps going and going and going. Kind of like the Energizer Bunny!
**Ok. I will do the tutorials here. Kind of mix it up.
**I don't color in all Copics. Puts knots in my stomach. Too much pressure. LOL
**I can work on thinking about the blending colors. But to be honest, I just grab something and run with it. Trial and error.
**I like that idea about the image and tutorial. Hmmm. WIll have to think about how to do that one. Good idea.
Are we done? LOL Let me know know if I missed something. Thanks for the feedback Shannon.

  3. I know exactly what you mean, Cheryl. I may have a terrible day at work, but when I get home their are two excited pups waiting for me. They are always happy & love us unconditionally. I look forward to Sally, Bella & Bandits adventures!

  4. I like seeing both and in one place. It's interesting how others color, I've always used gamsol with my pencils, but cool seeing a different way to do it! These sketches are so sweet!

    1. I use Gamsol, sometimes, but most of the time I just use a lighter color to do the blending. Thinking about doing a tutorial on that. Thanks for stopping by.
